Temazcal in Xochimilco

Experience a new way to connect with nature and yourself through our Temazcal ceremony in Xochimilco. This 6-hour adventure starts with a kayak trip to a chinampa in Laguna del Toro, where you’ll be welcomed for an ancestral ceremony. The Temazcal, a traditional practice that allows you to forget external discomforts and experience a form of rebirth, is divided into 4 doors or sessions. This event offers an authentic immersion into tradition, with no danger involved but all the benefits of a deeply connected ceremony with nature and its surroundings. Enjoy lunch and a meal during the ceremony on the chinampa.

Itinerary

Day 1 :
Duration 6 hours and 15 minutes (approx.)

15 minutes before the appointment: Meeting point at the Acalli Kayak Club office at Ampl San Marcos Norte, CP 16038, Xochimilco, CDMX, Mexico. You can park your vehicle (bike, motorcycle, car, etc.) here.

9:00 am: We’ll walk to the “Del Toro” dock, where you’ll receive your life jacket, paddles, instructions, and embark to sail to the chinampa where the Temazcal is located.

9:30 am: Arrive at the chinampa where the Temazcal is located. Enjoy lunch and change clothes to prepare for the Temazcal ceremony.

10:00 am (approx): Ceremony begins and entry into the Temazcal.

2:00 pm (approx): End of the ceremony and meal with the tribe.

3:00 pm: Return to the “Del Toro” dock, disembark, and return life jackets and paddles. End of the experience.

When can I book?

You can book up to 24 hours before the tour starts. Your spot is guaranteed if you pay the full amount or deposit 50%. If you do not secure your spot with a 50% deposit, another customer may take your place.

What if I cancel less than 24 hours in advance?

If you cancel less than 24 hours before the tour, you can reschedule to another available time slot. No refunds are given.

What happens if the weather is bad?

If bad weather prevents the tour, it will be rescheduled to a later date.

If it rains during the tour, will the tour continue?

The tour will continue even if it rains. We will provide additional information to help you prepare accordingly.

Can children participate?

Yes, children aged 4 and older can participate.

Do I need prior kayaking experience?

No, our guides will provide basic instructions before the tour.

What should I bring?

Comfortable clothing, appropriate footwear, insect repellent for the evening, sunscreen for the day, and a bottle of water.
