Overview

The Toro Route is the classic experience of Acalli Kayak Club inside the Laguna del Toro Ecological Reserve, in Xochimilco.

This route travels through historic canals, ahuehuete tree areas and natural corridors of the lake system, offering a calm, accessible and deeply territory-connected navigation experience.

During the tour, you will kayak through different areas of the reserve while exploring natural landscapes, local flora and fauna, and ancient canals that are part of the chinampa ecosystem of Xochimilco.

It is an ideal experience for beginners, couples, visitors and people who want to explore Xochimilco from a more natural, quiet and authentic perspective.

The Toro Route is designed as a continuous exploration experience focused on navigation and scenery, without stops or additional activities.

The experience is available at different schedules, allowing visitors to discover different landscapes and atmospheres within the reserve:

• 5:30 am — Sunrise
Navigate through mist, the first rays of sunlight and the natural awakening of the canals.

• 9:30 am — Morning
A route with soft daylight and a peaceful atmosphere ideal for landscape observation.

• 1:30 pm — Daytime
Experience the reserve with brighter natural light and open views of the lake corridors.

• 5:30 pm — Sunset
Navigation during sunset with warm tones and reflections over the water.

• 9:30 pm — Night
A nighttime navigation experience in a quiet and completely different environment within the canals of Xochimilco.

We operate with next-generation inflatable kayaks designed to provide stability, safety and comfort throughout the canal system.

Our kayaks include:

• Anti-tip stability system through integrated side air chambers that provide greater balance during navigation.

• Anti-puncture system thanks to air chambers protected inside high-resistance reinforced compartments, reducing direct exposure and increasing equipment durability.

• Spacious ergonomic design that allows comfortable navigation even for people without previous kayaking experience.

This allows us to operate in a safer, more flexible and more comfortable way throughout the different lake corridors of Xochimilco.
